About Us

Balance began providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities in September of 1991. At that time we began our first adult family home for two men in Ozaukee County.

Today, Balance serves more than 120 individuals each year in a variety of settings with about 100 staff members and around 50 volunteers. We continue to develop services that meet the needs of those who are referred to us through the Family Care program, the IRIS (Self-Directed Supports) program and through private arrangements.

Balance, Inc. is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities.

We provide services to individuals which promote and respond to their personal goals, desires, needs and dreams. We strive to empower each individual in determining the direction of his or her life.
Our services enhance the communities’ capacity to understand and embrace persons with developmental disabilities. We are committed to provide services that maximize individual potential, while acting as prudent stewards of our resources
