Crossing Guard
The Village of Grafton is seeking a dedicated Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of pedestrians at designated crosswalks. This role is vital in promoting safe travel for children and residents within our community.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the safe movement of children and other pedestrians to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections.
- Must observe gaps in traffic and lead children across roadways or intersections while remaining vigilant of possible traffic hazards.
- Must be punctual and remain at your designated work location until the conclusion of assignment.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to and pass a criminal background search, substance abuse test, and physical exam
Hours and Work Environment:
The schedule averages 1-2 hours per day, which may include a split shift, Monday thru Friday during the Grafton School District's school year. Crossing Guard duties involve physical exertion such as standing/walking, and working in inclement weather including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. The starting pay rate is $14.72 per hour.
