We’ve been making band saws since 1929.  Grob also invented a cold forming (Gear Rolling) process that forges a spline, gear, hexagon, square or custom shapes on various types of metal bar. The process is unique, and you will only find this steel cold forming in Grafton Wisconsin.

The Job Description:

 

  • Set up and operate Grob Gear Rolling Machines, Grob Tube Machines, Centerless Grinders, Grob Band Saws and other metal production machines. 
  • Assists with the production of cold forming/forging splines, gears, and custom shapes on various types of steel and aluminum bar stock.  
  • Uses precision inspection instruments and tools to ensure all product is to the correct specifications.
  • Produces an acceptable amount of product each shift by meeting or exceeding the production rates/goals.
  • Obtains manufacturing orders, verify orders are correct and determines whether order is complete or incomplete.
  • Strives to continuously improve safety, efficiency, and quality.  
  • Completes all required company and customer documents. 
  • Communicates with other employees in a calm professional manner; and listens well.
  • Complies with relevant occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Keeps the production area clean and organized.
  • Places finished products into boxes and/or crates. 
  • Assumes responsibility for safety, quality, production & accuracy.
  • May be required to perform other tasks as required.
The Requirements:

 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced math skills.
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • The ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • The ability to read calipers and micrometers preferred.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
The pay & Benefits: 
 
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour starting
