Dining Service Coordinator
Position Summary
Maintain efficient and effective dining services including purchasing, production and quality service of the meals, as well as ensuring safe food handling and storage procedures in every building.
Responsibilities
- Promotes Harvest Home Senior Living Services mission and philosophy in daily work.
- Abides by and promotes the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy and security policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluates food products based on established criteria for resident acceptance, cost, quality, and quantity.
- Purchase and distribute food to each household according to the weekly menu as well as controlling quality and quantity of food.
- Plans menus with approval by a dietitian that conform to budget, equipment, time, employee ability, and resident satisfaction.
- Creates and implements the use of quality, standardized recipes that resident caregivers can follow.
- Ensures that each household maintains proper food storage according to DHS Chapter 83 regulations.
- Ensures that systems are in place to facilitate cleaning/sanitation of kitchen and cooking equipment.
- Consults with residents to obtain food preferences and meal satisfaction.
- Assists with event planning that would involve food.
- Performs all other tasks as directed, associated with food purchasing, production, and storage.

- Desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to maintain records with an attention to detail, providing information as needed to appropriate people.
- Computer skills, with the ability to learn customized programs.
- Ability to recognize and address problems appropriately.
- Ability to provide oversight and supervision in an effective manner, especially in regards to meal preparation and proper food handling.
- Ability to make good judgments.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Good Christian character and continuing reputation of personal integrity.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job.
All general staffing requirements:
1. Free of communicable disease
2. Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance
3. Criminal record clearance and background check as required by Wisconsin Bureau of Quality Assurance
4. Ability to read, write, and understand English
5. General understanding of the needs of the elderly, those with dementia and client specific needs per Harvest Home license
6. Willingness to learn
Education & Experience
Must be at least 21 years of age. High school education required. Experience working with food purchasing/production preferred. Must have experience working with computers. Must enjoy working with the elderly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $49,000.00 per year
