The Village of Grafton is seeking applications from qualified individuals for our Crewperson position within the Department of Public Works.
 
The Crewperson position performs a variety of maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of Village streets, buildings, trees, parks, equipment, and storm water drainage infrastructure. The Department of Public Works has a team of 12 Crewpersons lead by a Foreman and Superintendent. Ideal applicants will possess a CDL license with a class A or B endorsement, but all applications will be considered.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair
  • Must reside within twenty (20) miles of the Village of Grafton boundaries with twelve (12) months of hire
  • Ability to respond to potential emergency or weather-related issues outside of normal business hours
The Village of Grafton offers a competitive benefits package including low-deductible health insurance and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, which is among the best funded and best managed public pension systems in the country. The starting pay range for this position is $23.55 to $29.36, depending on qualifications. Employees can anticipate a cost-of-living adjustment in addition to a length of service adjustment annually. A 3% cost-of-living adjustment has already been approved for 01/01/2026. Final candidate should anticipate an extensive background check and be able to pass a physical exam and drug test.
