The Drunken Botanist

“The Drunken Botanist: The Plants That Create the World’s Great Drinks” will be presented virtually by Author Amy Steward on February 24 at 7 pm. Her talk, sponsored by Ozaukee Master Gardeners, will explore the dizzying array of herbs, flowers, trees, fruits, and fungi that humans have through ingenuity, inspiration, and sheer desperation, contrived to transform into alcohol…“A Spirited Toast to the Marriage of Botany and Booze”. Stewart is the New York Times best-selling author of the “The Drunken Botanist”, “Wicked Plants”, and several other popular nonfiction titles about the natural world. She’s also written several novels in her beloved Kopp Sisters series, which are based on the true story of one of America’s first female deputy sheriffs and her two rambunctious sisters. She lives in Portland with her husband Scott Brown, a rare book dealer who can usually be found at his shop, Downtown Brown Books.
