Ozaukee Master Gardeners August Presentation

Horticulture Therapy - Wellness in the Garden Mark Dwyer’s presentation, “Horticulture Therapy - Wellness in the Garden”, will focus on therapeutic gardening which is a plant-dominated environment purposefully designed to facilitate interaction with the healing elements of nature. Interactions can be passive or active depending on the garden design and users’ needs. He will share examples of designs, features and plantings associated with therapeutic gardens he’s been involved with over recent years Mark Dwyer will be presenting (via Zoom) “Horticulture Therapy - Wellness in the Garden” for Ozaukee Master Gardeners’ talk scheduled for August 24th at 7:00 pm. Mark Dwyer has degrees in landscape architecture and urban forestry. He started his career in residential landscape design and has now returned to that occupation after working in public horticulture which included 21 years as director of horticulture at Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI. Currently he is the Garden Manager at the Edgerton Hospital & Health Services Healing Garden (3 acres) which he designed in 2011 and operates his own landscape design business, Landscape Prescriptions by MD.
